History Told

Project History Told is:

Meetings of youth which aim was to collect and document experiences of people repatriated during and after II World War and to preserve those stories among young generation of Europeans.
Participants (four people from Poland, three form Germany and three from Ukraine), during workshops, had an opportunity to get to know each other, their cultures and to get historical knowledge connected with the theme of repatriations in Europe. Youth learnt how to make an interviews in the method of oral history and took part in photography workshops. After workshops, groups of two, of contain of different nationalities, took an interview with ones who were displaced and who currently live in Poland, Germany or Ukraine. That gave space for youth  for direct meeting with stories of people who, despite adhesion to different cultures and nationalities, share the common experience connected with displacement.

The result of project is exhibition „All the ways lead back home?”, which contains panels with fragments of interviews enhanced with photographs and documents derived from private collection of displaced people.

Therefore, publication was prepared „History Told”.
